With the Japanese yen reversing its downside move from last week, I’m sure they are at least happy with that. Whether or not it was intentional amid Ueda’s remarks or the timing of it coming about, that is another question I guess. But given that they had little ammunition to fight back, I would say there was definitely some intent but I still hold my doubts on the effectiveness of such communication.
