Bowman is not as dovish as some of her FOMC colleagues, having dissented at the September 18, 2024 meeting. She opposed the Committee’s decision to lower the target range for the federal funds rate by 50 basis points to 4.75–5%, preferring a smaller 25 basis point reduction to 5–5.25%.
